AI Builds Fast. An Architect Makes It Last.

Back to All Events Current Event AI Builds Fast. An Architect Makes It Last.

AI is an incredibly fast builder. But nobody hires a builder without an architect.

We use AI tools every day, and they’ve made it possible to build a working website in an afternoon. What they won’t do on their own is step back and ask the architect’s questions: Who’s allowed in which rooms? What happens when something unexpected comes through the door? Is this up to code?

Those are the parts of a website you can’t see, and they’re what separates “it works” from “it’s ready for real users.”

Five things an architect would check before launch

If you’ve built something with AI (or someone built it for you), here’s what to look at before it goes live:

  1. Every admin page checks for a login. Not just hidden from the menu. Actually protected. Try opening the URL in a private window.
  2. Forms don’t trust what people type. Anything that goes into a database should be treated as text, never as a command.
  3. File uploads are restricted. Only the file types you expect, stored where they can’t be run as code.
  4. Passwords and API keys aren’t in the code. They belong in a protected configuration file, not anywhere publicly visible.
  5. Error messages don’t overshare. A visitor should see “Something went wrong,” not your database structure.

The best of both

None of this is complicated, and none of it means you shouldn’t use AI. The best results come from pairing the two: AI to speed up the building, and an architect to plan it and check the work.

If you’d like a second set of eyes on something you’ve built, we’re happy to take a look.
